See you tomorrow for MDS Monday!

Thanks for stopping by, Kristin

I love stamping! What I love even more than stamping is giving the gift of a hand-stamped item! This week is Teacher Appreciation week and I wanted to make something special for the boy’s teachers. I needed something that didn’t involve too much time since I was going to have to create several of them. Between both of my boys in school there are 5 teachers to give to.

What I came up with was this adorable box of thank you cards for each teacher. There are four sets of cards in each box, including envelopes! I packaged them all in a clear card box that I purchased (not SU!) and tied the box in some beautiful wide grosgrain ribbon (which i purchase on the clearance rack a few months back). I also added a little tag just to finish the gift off.

Here are the pictures of each individual card in the box:

Now I don’t know what it is about that little pig, but isn’t he just the cutest!! The set that I used is called Button Buddies (item #122735 wood mount or #122737 clear mount). I also used the Whisper White 5″ x 3 1/2″ notecards and envelopes (item #107311). You can get 20 pre-scored note cards and envelopes for only $5.95! The Thank You Kindly Stamp Set (#111700) that I used on these cards is one of my “go to” sets for thank you cards! I love each of the four greetings. By the way, this stamp set is on the Retiring Stamp Set list so if you don’t have it and want it you only have a few weeks left to order it!

I really hope the teachers like them as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by! Kristin

Happy Friday! I have a super fun card to share with you today!! For our last SU! team meeting we were asked to swap cards that used a folding technique. I received some awesome cards that I will share with you, but for today I am going to share the card that I swapped. I didn’t have a lot of time to work on my swaps, so I used a fairly easy fold called the Joy Fold. Isn’t it cute?! The Designer Series Paper on the front is from the Summer Smooches. The flower image on the front of the card is from Button Buddies. I just love this set! So cute and the buttons coordinate perfectly! A little bit of Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine around the vase and the card is finished off!

This is the dimension of the card here. You simply take a piece of 4 1/4 X 8 1/2 piece of card stock and score it at 5 1/2. This creates the flap on the front of the card. I created the inside piece by using the 3rd largest Decorative Label Framelit. When you cut this part out you just want to make sure that your framelit is just above the fold line so that your piece stays in tact. The flower on the front of the card was punched out using the Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet Punch, which sadly is now on the Retirement List! It is currently on sale for $14.37 so if this is a punch you like, make sure to get it before it sells out! You can see all of the retiring products online here. The flower on the front also serves the purpose of keeping the card closed.

Here is a picture of the inside of the card. I used a sentiment from the stamp set Friendly Phrases. I am quickly falling in love with this stamp set and it is now one of my “go to” sets for sentiments.

The colors I used for this card were Summer Sun, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, and Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by today & have a great day! Kristin

If I had to choose one of my all time favorite stamp sets, I would honestly say that Lovely As A Tree ranked up there in the top five. This is my go-to stamp set for the difficult to create “man” cards and I love to use it on Christmas cards as well! I know that when this stamp set retires I will keep it in my stash of stamps that I cannot part with forever.

I was inspired to create this card by a card that I pinned on Pinterest. I ended up changing quite a few things about the original card, but the colors and focal image are basically the same. I colored on and stamped the big oak tree using Old Olive and Chocolate Chip markers. Once I stamped the image i went over it with my blender pen and also added a little bit of color to the trunk and grass around the tree. The Very Vanilla cardstock is heavily sponged and distressed using Chocolate Chip ink and there is a little bit of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) peeking out of the corner. The Houndstooth Textured Impressions Folder was used to emboss the top part of this card and then DSP on the bottom is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Pack. To finish it off I added a little bit of Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and mounted the whole front onto a Very Vanilla card base.

A perfect card for that guy in your life or a nature enthusiast! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! Kristin

I promised to return with another card that we created at the Birthday Bash. Isn’t this such a fun card! This card uses the Sprinkled Expressions Stamp Set, which is one of the Sale-A-Bration freebies! The layout and color combination were both inspired by a similar card designed by LeeAnn Greff. Such a fun color combination of Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, and Basic Black. I did a really fun texturing technique on the More Mustard piece of cardstock using the brand new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I will try to put a little tutorial together on how I did that and post it up on my blog.

I have a few fabulous swaps to share with you today! I received SO many wonderful swaps and I will try and get more pictures to share with you, but for now you can enjoy these. :)

This swap uses the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and the same rock and roll technique as I used on my swap card. I love the colors in this card!

The second swap card uses the Triple Treat Flower which is one of the A-la-carte stamps from the Idea Book and Catalog. It coordinates with a matching punch, which I love!

The final swap card I’m going to share with you today uses the Mouthwatering Stamp Set from the Occasions Mini catalog. This is such a fun set, especially when it’s paired with the scented embossing powders that you can also find in the Occasions Mini!

I hope you enjoyed these gorgeous swap cards and thanks for stopping by. Have a great day! Kristin

We are having just beautiful weather here in Wisconsin this week! I’m having a hard time believe it’s March with temps near 80 degrees yesterday and today! I promised my boys that we would play outside so I’m going to make my post short. I wanted to share with you a fun Flip card that I designed for my Incredible Cards Club tonight.

This card uses a technique with the Labels Framelits Dies that are in the Occasions Mini Catalog. By only cutting out half of the Framelit you get this fun little window that flips open when you open the card.

Here are a few more pictures of the card.

The card base is a standard 5 1/2″ by 8 1/2″ card that is folded in half, then you fold the front flap back in half again to make a Z fold in the card. It is so fun! I really hope that the gals in my Incredible Cards Club love it as much as I do!

Have a great day! I’m off to enjoy the beautiful weather with my boys! Kristin

Whew….what a week! I had so many good intensions this week only to have them sidetracked by a lovely illness that took over our house. I was busy working on my Stampin’ Up! Regional swaps for the Milwaukee Regional that was held yesterday and it literally took me all week to make 50 swaps! I guess that’s what happens when you have to work on your swaps in between taking care of sick kids. :)

The swap I decided on used the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I LOVE it when Stampin’ Up! releases a stamp set and a coordinating punch! It makes my life so much easier. I know I would have never chosen to hand cut all of these pretty flowers on my own. You might notice the edges of the flowers are in inked Soft Suede. I achieved that look by doing the “rock and roll” technique on each flower. All you have to do is stamp your flower in a lighter shade (in this case I used Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, and Poppy Parade) and then roll the edges of the stamp in a darker color. It creates this beautiful two toned effect on each of the flowers! I just love it. The paper on this card is the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper, also from the Occasions Mini.

While I was working on my cards I whipped up a few of these cute little sour cream containers, filled with chocolate of course, for my downline gals!

Very easy to make with a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. Then sealed on each end and on the side with sticky strip and crimped with the Crimper Tool. I added some of the Mixed Bunch flowers to the from of these as well and tied them with the Soft Suede Bakers Twine.

Here is a close-up of one of them.

These would make adorable gifts for baby showers, birthdays, just about anything! You can make them with any size of paper or DSP as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card and little gift ideas! Kristin

Hello!!

Although my blog doesn’t show it, I have been busy at work stamping and creating projects with My Digital Studio this past week! I will hopefully post some of the MDS projects later this week. As for today I have a fast and beautiful card for you using the Sale-A-Bration set called Fresh Vintage.

I was inspired to make this card from one I saw while surfing the web. I’m really not sure what I’m going to do once this stamp set is retired. In fact I love the entire suite of products including the Everyday Enchantment DSP, brads, and ribbon that coordinate perfectly with this stamp set. I used the coordinating DSP and brads on my card today as well. The saying on this card is from the Thank You Kindly stamp set, one of my “go to” stamp sets. I have to say that is one of the biggest things that I LOVE about Stampin’ Up! products, they do a great job taking the guess work out of things for me. I know that their stamps, embellishments, and DSP’s will all coordinate beautifully!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Well I had good intentions to get this Waterfall Card Tutorial up on the blog last Friday, so here it finally is! I love cards with movement they really can be a lot of fun.

This is a card that I designed for my Incredible Cards Club Ladies for February. I love the colors in this card, they remind me of springtime!

Here is a list of supplies you will need to make this card:

Card base 11″ by 4 1/2″ in Pool Party (folded in half).

Card front measuring 4″ by 5 1/4″ in Whisper White and embossed using the Polka Dots Impressions Folder.

Waterfall anchor 3/4″ by 4″ (using a piece of coordinating Designer Series Paper)

Waterfall mechanism 8 1/2″ by 2″ in Calypso Coral.

(4) 2″ by 2″ squares in Soft Suede.

(4) 1 3/4″ by 1 3/4″ squares in Whisper White.

A piece of Whisper White measuring 1 3/4″ by 3″.

1 3/8″ circle punched in Lucky Limeade.

2 In-Color Brads (or coordinating Brads).

8″ of Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade.

Step 1: Using your paper piercing tool and mat attach your anchor piece (3/4″ by 4″) to the Whisper White card front using 2 brads. DO not glue this piece down or your waterfall will not work.

Step 2: Attach your Whisper White card front with anchor to the card base using snail adhesive.

Step 3: Score your Waterfall Mechanism in Calypso Coral using your Score Pal. You need to score it the long way (8 1/2″) at 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 2 1/4″, 3″, and 3 3/4″.

Step 4: Stamp your 1 3/4″ squares as desired. I used the For All You Do stamp set and sponged the edges of my pieces in Soft Suede. Attach these squares to your Soft Suede 2″ squares.

Step 5: Using only the first 4 scored rectangles attach your squares to your Waterfall Mechanism. Leave the last rectangle empty (this will be attached to your anchor). You call also add your 1 3/4″ by 3″ rectangle to the back of the waterfall mechanism.

Step 6: Using Sticky Strip attach the last rectangle of your Waterfall Mechanism to your anchor. Apply the sticky strip to the back of the rectangle attach it to the front of your anchor.

Step 7: Attach your Lucky Limeade Circle and ribbon to the bottom of your Waterfall Mechanism for the pull.

Enjoy your Waterfall Card!!

Happy Stamping, Kristin
