Merry Christmas

Hello!  It’s day two of holiday card inspiration!  Today’s card was inspired by a beautiful card I saw on Pinterest created by Teneale Williams.  I adapted my version to accommodate the supplies I had on hand.

MerryChristmasThis was one of the four cards created at my Holiday Jingle event and it was definitely a favorite of many.  The only tricky part was using the Expressions Thinlits to cut out the word “Merry”.  A quick tip for you when using the thinlits is to run them through the Big Shot at least three times.  This should help it to cut all the way through and come out cleanly.

Gratitude Journal

I just returned from a weekend of rest, relaxation, and stamping.  It was fabulous!  I stamped, watched movies, chatted, had some yummy meals together, took a walk, stamped some more, and overloaded on sweets!

I promise to share all of my creations from the weekend with you, but I thought I would start with my favorite project of the weekend.

I saw this idea at the Stampin’ Up! Convention this year.  Sara Douglas demonstrated how she took the Thankful Tablescape Kit and turned it into a book for her family.   This is my version of that idea.

The front page is created on half of the chipboard that comes in the kit.  I also added the Burlap Ribbon and button which do not come in the kit.  Here is a close up of the details on the front of the album.

Each page was made a little bit different and I made one page for our family to write things we are all thankful for and then each of us has a page that we will write our own ideas on. My oldest son can fill out his page on his own and the other two little ones will need help from mom and dad.  I also left a spot for each of our pictures to be added to the page.

You can see for each page I took the place setting and created the folder.  I added some of the  paper to the back of it folder and each name is written in chalk pen on the little chalkboard accents that come with the kit.  Each of the little sheets pull out for them to write on.

maxpageI am planning to bind the whole book together with two jump rings at the top just to keep it simple.  You could easily bind it together with any type of binding system you have.  I will add the other half of the chipboard that came in the kit to the back of it just to keep it stable.

I honestly haven’t scrapped in awhile and it felt SO good to get this accomplished!  The whole weekend was worth it just for this project.  Please let me know if you have any questions on my journal, I’m happy to answer them for you.  For supply links please see Stamping Supplies below.

Wedding Thanks

I was recently asked to create some thank you cards for a bride-to-be to send out for her wedding.  Did you know you can hire me to create cards for your occasions?  I can create baby shower invites, birth announcements, wedding cards and favors, birthday invites, etc…   I created two different designs in various shades of purple (the wedding colors) and sent them off for approval.

weddingthanks1

This was the first sample I created for her.  The shades of purple on this card are Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder.  These two shades of purple complement each other well. I used the Stippled Blossoms stamp set.

weddingthanks2This is the second sample I created for her.  This one is in shades of Rich Razzleberry.  To create the two shades I stamped off on the solid image of the flower before stamping it onto my card stock.  Then the outline image is stamped in full force.  This card has a little bling on it with the Rhinestones in the corners, which make it feel elegant.

If you were the bride-to-be which one of these samples would you choose?

Make A Wish

Do you ever have a project that starts out looking one way and then ends up completely different than what you imagined? That is how this card ended up for me!  Makeawish

I love the color combination on this card and I pulled it from the Paper Players Color Challenge #136 this week.  The color combination of my card is Rose Red, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, and Pool Party.  I used the stamp set Summer Silhouettes for the flower images and the words come from the Sweet Essentials stamp set.

Did you notice that fun little Soda Pop Top on the card?!  I had the card all finished and really felt like it needed just one more thing…and so I added the Soda Pop Top at the last minute, but I’m so happy I did!  It really adds a fun little detail to this card!
