I was playing around today with an single stamp that I purchase a few months ago called Young Vermillion. I’m not usually drawn to birds when I stamp but this little fellow captured my attention. I simply stamped him on very vanilla cardstock and added the Grateful greeting from the Always Thankful stamp set from the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog. I love the simplicity of this bird but I wanted to jazz the card up a little bit so I added some beautiful Spice Cake Designer Series Paper behind him. I am in love with this Designer Paper. In fact, I find myself hoarding it and not wanting to use it all up. I am going to have to make sure I have some on hand when this mini catalog retires! A couple of brads and some beautiful crochet trim ribbon on the card finish it off. The final look is a simple but elegant card! I have to share the greeting on the inside which reads: “There’s always something for which to be thankful” – Charles Dickens. How true!!
