Today I am sulking.  I am wishing that I was sitting in sunny San Antonio, TX at the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference.  I know that I am where I am supposed to be right now, but I can’t help but feel like I’m missing out!  I was planning on going this year, but my husband was unable to take off of work and watch the kiddos.  So what do I do to feel better…STAMP of course!!  Last night I was working on projects for my Incredible Cards Club and I was inspired by a beautiful card made by Lisa Young, a fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, using the Stained Glass Technique.  After looking at her inspiration I came up with this card.

The technique on this card is hard to pick up on in a picture I know, but it’s stunning in real life.  Basically you emboss on vellum, in this case I used white embossing powder, and color the image in on the back side of the vellum using markers.  It gives this beautiful soft look of stained glass.  I mounted my piece  of vellum on whisper white card stock as well.  The ribbon is gorgeous, isn’t it?!  I am just loving the new pleated ribbon!  The ruffles on the bottom of the card were made using the new edgelits dies.  Since the technique is a softer look I went with Blushing Bride and Early Espresso for my main card colors.  Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Happy Stamping, Kristin
