Have you ever wanted to send a card to someone with just a little extra something in it? I love creating and sending bookmark cards to friends and family because not only do they get a beautiful card in the mail, but they also have a bookmark they can keep and use!
If you haven’t tried making one, they are SO easy to do! There is one basic thing you need to know and that’s how to cut the base of the card. Once you know how to do that the possibilities are endless! So to get started you need a piece of 5 1/2″ by 11″ piece of card stock as your base.
Next score your card base at 4 1/4″ and at 8 1/2″. I used my Simply Scored for scoring these lines. The small 2 1/2″ rectangular piece at the end is going to fold in to make your bookmark.
Next, it’s as easy as decorating your card front and bookmark. Now mail it off to someone special!! To decorate the front and bookmark of this card I used the Stippled Blossoms stamp set. The colors are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral with Wild Wasabi for the leaves.
The bookmark on the end can be made removable by using any perforating tool that you might have. Your recipient could also remove it by cutting along the score line. I used a handheld punch to add a hole and some white taffeta ribbon to the top of the bookmark to finish it off.
I hope you enjoyed my bookmark card! Go and give it a try!
Be Creative, Kristin
