I just returned from a weekend of rest, relaxation, and stamping.  It was fabulous!  I stamped, watched movies, chatted, had some yummy meals together, took a walk, stamped some more, and overloaded on sweets!

I promise to share all of my creations from the weekend with you, but I thought I would start with my favorite project of the weekend.

I saw this idea at the Stampin’ Up! Convention this year.  Sara Douglas demonstrated how she took the Thankful Tablescape Kit and turned it into a book for her family.   This is my version of that idea.

The front page is created on half of the chipboard that comes in the kit.  I also added the Burlap Ribbon and button which do not come in the kit.  Here is a close up of the details on the front of the album.

Each page was made a little bit different and I made one page for our family to write things we are all thankful for and then each of us has a page that we will write our own ideas on. My oldest son can fill out his page on his own and the other two little ones will need help from mom and dad.  I also left a spot for each of our pictures to be added to the page.

You can see for each page I took the place setting and created the folder.  I added some of the  paper to the back of it folder and each name is written in chalk pen on the little chalkboard accents that come with the kit.  Each of the little sheets pull out for them to write on.

maxpageI am planning to bind the whole book together with two jump rings at the top just to keep it simple.  You could easily bind it together with any type of binding system you have.  I will add the other half of the chipboard that came in the kit to the back of it just to keep it stable.

I honestly haven’t scrapped in awhile and it felt SO good to get this accomplished!  The whole weekend was worth it just for this project.  Please let me know if you have any questions on my journal, I’m happy to answer them for you.  For supply links please see Stamping Supplies below.
