It’s officially spring here and I was in a springy mood, despite the cooler temps here today! I pulled the colors for this card from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper, one of the FREE Sale-a-bration offerings until the end of March. See the Sale-a-bration brochure HERE. I just love these tulips from the Blessed Easter single stamp.

Have you started thinking about Easter cards yet? I have already made several and I’m absolutely loving the new single stamp Blessed Easter that’s in the Occasions Catalog! Perfect for your Easter cards or leave the sentiment off and you have beautiful spring tulips.
Card Dimensions:
Daffodil Delight Card Base: 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″
Sahara Sand: 5 1/4″ by 4″
Sweet Sorbet DSP: 5 1/8″ by 1 1/2″
Tips for creating this card:
- Add texture. Adding texture to your cards has never been easier! Grab your Textured Boutique Embossing Machine and your favorite embossing folder and add simple texture to your cards. The embossing folder used here is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration choices!
- Dress it up with designer series paper (DSP). When I’m looking for color inspiration I grab some DSP and choose my color combinations from there. The DSP used on this card is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Pack also a FREE Sale-a-bration choice.
- Color it in! Grab your markers and add some ink! The Blessed Easter stamp is what is called a line image stamp. Line image stamps are perfect for coloring! I grabbed my 2012-2014 In Color Markers and added ink in Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe. I always highlight a few areas by going over them twice with my markers, usually following along the natural lines of the stamp.

Yeah! It’s one of my favorite nights of the month! I have the privilege of spending a few hours stamping with friends tonight at my monthly stamp class! If you live local to me and you are interested in joining us next month, I’d love to have you!
This card was one we made at a previous stamp class. I realized that I never shared it with you! It’s a perfect birthday card to send to a guy or gal in your life.
Card Dimensions:
Summer Starfruit Card Base: 8 1/2″ by 5 1/2″
Bermuda Bay: 3″ by 3 1/2″
Whisper White: 2 7/8″ by 2 7/8″
Tips for creating this card:
- Make your own background. If you don’t have an designer series paper that matches your card or you just don’t want to add any, that’s okay! You can make your own background. For the background of this card I stamped the balloon stamp from the Sketched Birthday stamp set on the card front using Summer Starfruit Ink. It creates a nice background without taking away from the focal point of the card.
- Use your markers to highlight a stamped image. I wanted to give the cake image a little pop, but I didn’t want to color the entire image in. I grabbed a few markers and followed the sketch lines from the stamp image to highlight a few areas. When you are coloring in an image with small areas, it works best to use the writing (or smaller tip) end of the marker so your ink doesn’t go on too heavy. Don’t be afraid to use bold colors!
- Frame it. I love my framelits! For this card I used the forth largest square from the Square Framelits Collection to cut out the frame in Bermuda Bay. I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock behind it to stamp my image on. I created this card before Stampin’ Up! introduced their new On Film Framelits, which I think would work perfectly for this card as well!

It really goes without saying that I love creating cards and sending them out to others! Since Valentine’s Day was coming up quickly Max (my three-year-old son) and I decided to make a few valentine cards to send out. I was inspired by an idea I saw on Pinterest to use their little hand prints to make a heart shape.
I used acrylic paint, which is a water based paint, for this project and a few of my stamping supplies. If you have these supplies lying around your house it’s not to late to create a few of these and get them in the mail!
Here’s what I did to create this card:
- Paint their little hands using an acrylic paint color of your choice. “Stamp” them onto a card base. I used Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes. They made the perfect base for this project and come pre-scored in packs of 20 with envelopes!
- Tip: when trying to get their little hands lined up on the front of the card make sure you are stamping them so that they will appear upside down when you are opening the card. It’s also helpful to have them practice on scrap paper first.
- I added a little simple stamping in the middle of the heart formed using the Countless Sayings 1 and Countess Sayings 2 photopolymer stamp sets and my Stazon Jet Black ink pad.
The perfect little valentine to send and a special little keepsake to remember how little their hands were!
