Do you ever feel like you just can’t be creative?  Like you have lost your mojo?  I have this box full of beautiful new Stampin’ Up! products and I have been staring at them all week.  I wanted to use them, I simply was at a loss!  I finally just went to my stamping space and forced myself to use my new stuff….sad I know!  🙂  I’m happy that I did though.  I ended up pulling out the Floral District Designer Series Paper as a starting point.  Sometimes when I am at a loss of where to start I pick out a piece of DSP that I like and pull colors from there.  I ended up making two different cards with this piece of DSP that I picked.

This was actually the first card that came to me.  I really love the layout and the simplicity of this card!  I used the new Betsy’s Blossoms (w#126004/c#126006).  The colors I used for both of the cards are Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, and Baja Breeze.  I also used some of the beautiful new 1/4″ Stiched Grosgrain Ribbon in Daffodil Delight on this card.  I love this ribbon!  Just to jazz up the card a little bit I added a few Basic Rhinestones.

You can see the DSP a little better on this card.  For this layout I decided I wanted to use the Kindness Matters Stamp Set (w#122900/c#122902).  I used a masking technique for this card by stamping the butterfly images on top of each other instead of side by side as they appear on the stamp.  You simply make a “mask” out of another piece of paper to cover up the extra images so that you only get the one image to stamp on your cardstock.  I again added some Basic Rhinestones to this card while I had them out.

I had a hard time putting my things away last night since I finally felt like I was getting in a groove!  I have a lot of stamping to do in the next several weeks as I am getting prepped for Convention in Salt Lake City, UT.  I am so excited to be going again this year, but boy I have a lot to do!  I think I might end up using one of these cards as a swap card since I already have them designed.   I think of the two of them the first one is my favorite.  What do you think??  Which card is your favorite of the two?  I’d love to hear from you, leave me a comment and let me know.

****I will choose a random comment on Friday June 15, 2012 and send that person the card they love in the mail!

Thanks for stopping by & Be Creative!!  Kristin
