It’s been too long since I’ve played with My Digital Studio! I found a fun challenge MDSM55 “It’s all about your state” over on the MDS Monday blog and it was just what I needed to get back in the groove. This was the challenge sketch.
It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to do, but then it suddenly came to me to scrapbook our photos from our family road trip to Michigan last summer. Just looking at these pictures makes me long for warm weather! We had such a great time visiting staying with my in-laws that we have decided it will be a yearly trip! Now I can’t wait for warmer weather and our family trip to Michigan!

It’s been awhile since I have posted anything using My Digital Studio (MDS). I was looking at my Facebook page the other day and noticed that the header I had was from last fall! While I love those pictures, I knew it was time for a new header. So of course I turned to MDS!
Aren’t they just adorable!! Those smiles just melt my heart! We stopped at this cute little petting zoo and I snapped a few quick pictures of them while they were all in a good mood. Sometimes it’s hard to get them to cooperate and even get one good picture. I’ll post my supplies list at the end of this post for those of you what want to recreate this header. Since I loved this header SO much, I ended up turning it into a full size scrap book page in My Digital Studio as well.
I hope you give digital scrap booking a try, if you haven’t already. It is such a fun way to capture those memories! All my pictures are digital now and I find it such a time saver to scrap them in My Digital Studio. If you want to give it a try and have questions, I’m happy to answer them!

Just look at those smiles!! Even my youngest, who will be 3 in a few weeks, was brave enough to go down the slides! I can still hear his “whooho” as he goes down the big slides!

Do you love scrapbooking? I know that I do. It’s a great way to capture family memories. I started scrapbooking even before I had kids and let me just say it was so much easier then! After my second child I all of a sudden found myself falling behind in my scrapbooking and then after the third, well let’s not even go there! Wow…it feels like it’s been a long time since I have posted any of my MDS projects! I’m excited to have one to share with you today!
Since I shared with you my love for the chalkboard technique on my cards I thought it would be fun to share a My Digital Studio page made with this same look. Isn’t this a fun page?! I’m a bit of a font horder…and I have collected a ton of fabulous fonts. It’s so fun to feature them by using a technique like the chalkboard technique! I was surprised at how easy this was to achieve in My Digital Studio! I used the Vintage Overlay #1 over a black piece of card stock to create the “chalkboard” feeling on this page. For $5.95 these are a steal! I actually used another one on the background of the Baja Breeze card stock as well to create the shadow.
Have you tried the chalkboard technique in My Digital Studio yet?! If not it’s time to give it a try! It’s so easy and you will be glad you did!

Boy do I have something special for you today! Earlier in the month I was asked to give a brief presentation on my five favorite things about My Digital Studio 2 to the SOMH stampers group. I had a difficult time narrowing it down to five, but just in case you are curious here they are.
1. RECOLOR EMBELLISHMENTS: Monochromatically change the color of an embellishment
2. CUSTOM CANVAS SIZE: Create a project in any size up to 24″ x 24″ (my desktop calendar is 1200 x 800 pixles)
3. STAMP IMAGE COLORING: Add more than one color to a single stamp image
4. VECTOR STAMP BRUSH IMAGES: Resize vector stamp while keeping its image crisp
5. LAYERS PALETTE: Quickly manipulate and edit project layers (This is by far my favorite one!!)
Instead of just saying my five favorite things I created this Desktop Calendar using them so that I could show the group what they were. There are more than five new features on this desktop calendar, because it’s hard not to use them all! Maybe you can spot some of the other new features. I love MDS and would be happy to share all that I love about it with you! If you haven’t plunged into it yet I encourage you to download the free trial and give it a try.
